    Description: Coccinic acid shows inhibitory effects against colorectal carcinoma HCT-15 and oral epithelial cell line KB-3-1.Mixture of coccinic acid and anwuweizonic acid shows significant inhibitory activity against human decidual cells and rat luteal cells in vitro, suggests that it has antifertility activity.

    METHODS AND RESULTS:
    Nine known compounds were obtained, including four lignans, epischisandrone (1), tigloylgomisin P (2), cagayanone (3) and (-)-gomisin L₂ (4), together with five triterpenoids, micranoic acid B (5), lancifodilactone H (6), Coccinic acid (7), schisanlactone B (8) and anwuweizonic acid (9).
    CONCLUSIONS:
    Compounds 2-6 and 8 showed moderate to marginal cytotoxicity, with GI₅₀ values of 11.83-35.65 μM.

    Antifertility Triterpenoid Acids from Kadsura angustifolia.[Reference: WebLink]
    To isolate and characterize bioactive compounds from the stems of Kadsura angustifolia .
    METHODS AND RESULTS:
    The compounds were extracted with solvent,isolated by column chromatography and identified by the spectroscopic methods. eight compounds and a mixture of two triterpenoid acids were isolated and identified as epi anwuweizic acid (1),shikimic acid (2),(+) catechin (3),poriferast 5 en 3β,7α diol (4),β sitosterol (5),daucosterol (6),cerotic acid 1 monoglyceride (7) and behenic acid 1 monoglyceride (8),and mixiture of Coccinic acid (9) and anwuweizonic acid (10).
    CONCLUSIONS:
    Mixture of 9 and 10 showed significant inhibitory activity against human decidual cells and rat luteal cells in vitro . Compounds 2~4,7 and 8 were first reported in the family Schisandraceae,and compounds 1,5,6,9 and 10 were isolated from K.angustifolia for the first time.
