    Description: Officinalisinin Ⅰcan effectively reduce the blood glucose and protect nerve injuryin diabetic mice.

    Study on hypoglycemic mechanism and central nerve protection of Officinalisinin Ⅰ in Rhizoma Anemarrhenae[Reference: WebLink]
    To study the hypoglycemic effect of Officinalisinin Ⅰin Rhizoma Anemarrhenae on diabetes, and discuss the hypoglycemic mechanism and protective effect on diabetic nephropathy.
    METHODS AND RESULTS:
    Glucose tolerance was measured in model mice induced by oral administration of alloxan.Inhibition of glycosidase activity was tested in vitro.GLP-1 was detected after fasting in diabetic mice.The levels of BDNF and GSH-PX in serum were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) after 20 days of medication.Officinalisinin I has the functions of lowering blood glucose and significantly improving the glucose tolerance of diabetic mice.In the experiment, the glycosidase inhibitor pathway was eliminated, andby promoting the generation of GLP-1 and BDNF and increasing the activity of GSH-PX Officinalisinin I achieves the hypoglycemic and neuroprotective effect.
    CONCLUSIONS:
    Officinalisinin I can effectively reduce the blood glucose and protect nerve injuryin diabetic mice.
