| Therapeutic Effects of Rotundine Combined with Methadone in Treatment of Heroin Dependence[Reference: WebLink] |
To explore the therapeutic effects of rotundine combined with methadone in treatment of heroin dependence.
METHODS AND RESULTS:
Methods: Sixty heroin addicts were randomly divided into two groups. Group A were treated with rotundine plus methadone and group B were treated with methadone alone. Results: The effective rate of group A was significantly higher than that of group B (96.67% and 73.33%, respectively, P 0.05). The total dose of methadone and the days of treatment in group A (275±21.2 mg and 8±2.3 d, respectively) was significantly lower than that of group B (415±31.2 mg and 12±2.5 d, respectively, P 0.01 and P 0.05, respectively).
CONCLUSIONS:
Conclusion: Rotundine combined with methadone treatment may be a better therapeutic method in treatment of heroin dependence. |

| Influence of rotundine on NO、ET-1 and energy metabolism after acute brain injury resulted from complete cerebral ischemia reperfusion in the rats[Reference: WebLink] |
METHODS AND RESULTS:
To find the influence of Rotundine(L THP) on NO、ET 1、ATP and Lactate in rat brain tissues after the global ischemia reperfusion and to investigate protective effects of L THP.Methods:The four vessel occlusion model was made as described by Pulsinelli Brierlog in Sprange Daweley rats.The influences of L THP on NO、ET 1 and energy metabolism during the reperfusion period was observed.Results:L THP can suppress the marked increase of NO、ET 1 and lactate in the early stage of reperfusion,and also improve the contents of ATP.
CONCLUSIONS:
L THP provides remarkable protection against cerebral ischemia reperfusion damage.Its mechanisms may be through its influence on NO、ET 1 and energy metabolism. |
