    Description: Phaseollidin hydrate shows less antifungal activity than the original phytoalexin phaseollidin.

    Detoxification of phaseollidin by Fusarium solani f.sp. Phaseoli.[Reference: WebLink]

    METHODS AND RESULTS:
    The phytoalexin phaseollidin is transformed into phaseollidin hydrate by liquid mycelial cultures and cell-free culture filtrates of Fusarium solani f.sp. phaseoli.
    CONCLUSIONS:
    The antifungal activity of the hydrate is much less than that of the original phytoalexin.
