PHYTOCHEM LETT, 2015. | Two new flavonols from flowers of Getonia floribunda Roxb.[Reference: WebLink] | METHODS AND RESULTS:
Phytochemical investigation of the EtOAc and MeOH extracts from flowers of Getonia floribunda Roxb., a Thai herbal medicine, resulted in the isolation of two new flavonols, 4'-hydroxy-6,7,8,3'-tetramethoxyflavonol (1) and 4'-hydroxy-6,7,8-trimethoxyflavonol (2), along with a known pachypodol (3). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including UV, IR, 1D and 2D NMR techniques and MS analysis.
CONCLUSIONS:
Compound 1 showed cytotoxicity against the oral cavity cancer (KB) cell line with an IC50 value of 8.99 +/- 2.00 mu g/ml. (C) |
